Dr. Samuel J. Gilbert II is the proud pastor of the Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Affectionately called “The Mountain Church” Dr. Gilbert II has laborer on this journey for over 21 years. Under his leadership, the church which is a pillar in the Houston Heights community, has evolved into a traditional bible believing church with a contemporary flair. With over 25 ministries and a vibrant staff of committed leaders, Dr. Gilbert’s ministry is touching lives and changing hearts one message at a time.
A graduate of Bishop College, Virginia Union University and Howard University, Dr. Gilbert is a diligent student of God’s Word, with a yearning and a burning for teaching and expository preaching. Dr. Gilbert is the son of Dr. Samuel J. Gilbert Sr., Pastor Emeritus of Mount Sinai Baptist Church and President Emeritus of Houston Metropolitan Baptist Ministers Conference. He also has one son, Sam III, a graduate of Georgetown College in Kentucky.
